Lively Day

Since I foolishly upgraded the wordpress and forgot to back up my database , this blog in the verge of an oblivion .
luckily I still got an old database that I manage to import … so the old posts still remains.
But the photos page and some post remains unseen.

So last week my wife and I took little trip back to her home town , Tulung Agung. It’s a small town in east java. It’s known by its product of granite and sugar refinery.
Life here is simple and subtle , but just the same like everywhere else in this world.
I took this picture at morning , and the trees in nearby rice field was amazing. Too bad it was cloudy so the sun would not appear till noon

I’ve always thought I was the one who would first leave my current job, there so many things that I want it to do in my fading youth.
I always wanted to be involved in humanitarian movement, wanted to see the humpback whale , or visiting Tibet.
But years gone by, and i found struggling through life necessities was enough cause to postpone your dreams.

finally we’re moving to our new home ..
still with a leaky bathroom and working progress on buying the furniture
but we’ll survive

since we’re one of the earliest resident here, there were much empty land to cherish here. Vast savanna with breathtaking view in the morning was ours .
But the contractor said in few month there will be another housing complex and apartments here.
Somewhere in my heart I don’t want that to happen, the view is just too good to true.

I thought I have to change the layout of this blog, I’m not even sure that this is better than the one before. But I really need some changes in life, isn’t that life is all about? Changes. I’m not too excited about the design but it gives correct behavior in terms of usability.

Because the project of web site that I’ve been working on went kaput. I got all the spare time in my hand that I just couldn’t get myself occupy enough, so I began to do some t-shirt design.
Turns out it’s harder that I thought would be, but I really want to keep doing this and hopefully able to raise some money to make real t-shirt with its design.

lately I joined several groups of photographer , Indonesian groups or vast groups community such as flickr . I’m not much of a photographer myself, it’s just a hobby of mine. I even got my camera as a gift .. the only upgrade I’ve got is a $100 lens which I bought after months of saving money. Some people suggest that I should get a flash as my next kit …. yeah maybe in two or three years.

well, back to topics .. I found that the photographers forum in Indonesia and the rest of the world somehow different , different in types of pictures of they post and their favorites. In indonesian forum picture of female models dominate the realm, it’s like you if you never shoot models you’re not a good photographer..that and pictures of beaches and macro shoot of insect . There you have it three main categories : girls, beaches, insects

While in larger groups flickr there was really wide category of aspect that you could shoot, and the list is endless. Lamp post, postal sign, raindrops, books, any ordinary things that lot of talented people try to capture .

I think good pictures is entirely lays in you .. everyone else opinion is number two. That being said recently I post my above pictures to both forums, and the result is predictable. The Indonesian forum criticizing me as pizza ads man, one people said he hate pizza so he gave me negative and so on. But in flickr it got a nice review…

I guess if I want to be good photographer I should find pretty models soon ..

but hey … the hell with them, I think I’ll just quit the Indonesian forum
