Last weekend was a great weekend ,
a few friends of mine got together and hang out.
of course in this time like now there were children all around us.
Some of us even have three children with them.
I always fond of children,
the way of their thinking always fascinated me.
Being around and babysitting my nephew a lot I came to a divine
understanding..
that children sometimes doesn’t make sense and they doesn’t have to..
but I’ve seen too many parents tried to explained themselves to their children
Don’t get me wrong , I want my child to be have a good manner, but the only thing I would teach my child would be tolerance and good behavior.
I wouldn’t teach my children something I didn’t fully understand.. yet.
But back to the story…
anyway one of my friend has a 3 yrs old daughter, and yet she already shown some exceptional intelligence.
And she always asked questions and some of her questions leaves us gasping for fresh air.
Like when we visited the zoo , she asked why the animals were there ? are they living in the zoo ? or if they go home at night ? just because she once read lion lived in the jungle.
last day
well this is pretty much my last day in Jakarta, tomorrow I’m going back to Surabaya.
And today is my wife birthday , but over the year I always manage to forget to buy her presents.
After series of bad presents she finally gave in about the idea of birthday surprises, poor anna.
Maybe I stop by in some shop on the way back to hotel.. but no idea what’s is the best to give her
in jakarta
Today I still in Jakarta for a visit, just for four days but I already felt the tense and stress in big city. Everything was moving faster and the amount of people were enormous. The traffic was horrible, and the street were smelly.
But the hotel were good though, and I have healthy breakfast that I’ve never tasted before ( actually I was staying on my wife’s business trip hahahha )
But the price was few times fold than Surabaya, Yesterday I was having lunch in a small cafe when the tabs arrive and there goes my precious hard earned money.
And just the same day I have hard prove that Starbucks is actually extorting money from the third world with their brands and image.
( 35000 IDR for lousy latte, and their wifi service didn’t work , darn it )

I remembered my first job hunt in job fair … no wait
.. I couldn’t recall it
it was a decade ago.
power of sudo
So I get this ubuntu CD for free from the internet, If you haven’t got one just request the CD and yes they will send those disc all the way from Netherlands ( but there was a 8k delivery fee ). After been using it for quite some time this operating system is stable like granite mountain rocks. No virus or system failure whatsoever. Unlike my Windows needs an regular formatting and install.
One friend explain it to me why, because my knowledge on operating system is kind a limited, he takes the time to tell me in slow motion.
” Whenever you run windows if you didn’t set an account it will always assume you are the administrator and you could do anything that you want, that include doing stupid and destructive things on the system ”
” Ubuntu ( linux ) tend to see you as mere user and cannot access or do anything in the system admin area ”
but what if I want it to be a admin ( I’m the master after all, not inferred by some machine telling me that it was smarter than me )
” That’s when you utilize the sudo command, and only that operation is having the privileged as admin
unless you use sudo -i command which assume you’re admin in that terminal only ”
yay, isn’t brilliant ?
an operating system that smart enough to know their master sometime not as smart as they look but occasionally allow their master to act like one .

Though I am not a fan to this kind of design but I find it easy to create, you just blank the outline color and voila !

I’ll try to draw some more pictures, maybe some one would wanted to use them in their blog.
but yesterday I started to make some tutorials on this . I am not a good artist nor tutor

freedom of speech in Indonesia
Just a while ago Prita Mulyasari cases really shocking this country wide, a house wife complaining about malpractice of an international hospital , and she was sentenced for years in prison ( but later the charge is revised and still waiting trial ).
fortunately, support and advocation already started to gather in Prita’s side. One thing that I do know is if such thing is happening to me, I will rot in prison for sure .
